I have worked at a small retail grocery chain for nine years. I have been trying to move up or at least have further cross training. For five years I have asked to work customer service but am not able to, meanwhile others who have worked there a much shorter time are able too, even new hires. I have talked to my manager about this, he says I am a good worker but I need to be "more bubbly". I have scored excellent on two out of two secret shopper evaluations. My manager also told me somone from corporate told him, "fire her, get someone with a personality." I have also been bullied and harrassed because I am a vegetarian. This is obvious discrimination, but legal discrimination. Do I have any recourse?
